True Learning:

A Renaissance in Education and Authentic Learning

Chapter 2 Working with others

Groups

Collaboration
Collaboration includes  groups of all sizes. From family teams of two and groups of four

to a larger group such as a gym meeting.

A child learns to lead and to follow,

to ask and to answer questions.

Self-Worth

The more often students interact, the stronger thinkers they become.

Self-worth blossoms and independent thinkers are the norm.

EXAMPLE

Expert Groups

Small groups focus on a key topic

and learn it well. Then they share

in their exchange group.

Growth is never by sheer chance;

it is the result of forces working together.
